Om denne boken

"Mlle Fifi: Nouveaux Contes" by Guy de Maupassant is a short story collection published in 1882. Set during the Franco-Prussian War in occupied Normandy, the title story follows bored Prussian officers quartered in a French chateau. When they invite local prostitutes to a dinner party, tensions escalate between the arrogant young officer called "Mademoiselle Fifi" and a Jewish prostitute named Rachel. Their confrontation leads to violence and an act of defiance that resonates beyond a single evening, exploring themes of national pride, class barriers, and resistance.
