Om denne boken

"Candida" by Bernard Shaw is a comedy written in 1894. A young poet falls desperately in love with Candida, the wife of a popular Christian Socialist clergyman, and believes he must rescue her from domestic drudgery. He sees her as divine and considers her husband unworthy. But Candida herself holds surprising power in this triangle. She must choose between the passionate poet who worships her and the husband who believes he protects her. Shaw questions Victorian assumptions about love, marriage, and what women truly desire.
