Om denne boken

"Under the Window: Pictures & Rhymes for Children" by Kate Greenaway is a children's picture book published in 1879. This collection of original verses and illustrations became Greenaway's breakthrough work, selling over 100,000 copies and sparking the "Greenaway vogue." The book features drawings of children dressed in quaint, turn-of-the-century fashions set against English countryside scenes. Its pale colors, bordered pages, and aesthetic motifs reflected the Arts and Crafts Movement, creating a sweetly nostalgic vision of childhood that captivated Victorian audiences and revolutionized children's book illustration.
