Om denne boken
"Wallace; or, the Life and Acts of Sir William Wallace, of Ellerslie" by Blind Hary is a long biographical poem written in the fifteenth century, likely during the 1470s. This romantic epic chronicles the life of Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace, from his boyhood through his battles against English forces to his execution in 1305. Blending historical events like the Battle of Stirling Bridge with fictional chivalric adventures, the poem portrays Wallace as an ideal hero—courageous, patriotic, and devout. For centuries after publication, it ranked as Scotland's second most popular book after the Bible.
