Om denne boken

"A Compilation of the Messages and Papers of the Presidents. Volume 1, part 3" compiled by James D. Richardson is a historical collection first published in 1899. This volume presents official proclamations, speeches, and messages from America's early presidents. Part 3 specifically covers the conclusion of Andrew Jackson's presidency and the complete term of Martin Van Buren between 1837 and 1841. The work became the center of a political controversy over copyrighting public documents, ultimately shaping laws about federal government works.
