"Steve Yeager" by William MacLeod Raine is a novel written in the early 20th century. This story revolves around the adventures of the titular character, Steve Yeager, a young cowpuncher who finds himself at the crossroads of a changing world, struggling against the decline of the cattle industry. As he navigates through various challenges, including conflicts with tricksters and other rough characters, he shows a blend of optimism and determination. As the narrative unfolds, we witness Steve's transformation from a mere bystander to an active participant in the exciting, often hazardous world of film production, all while encountering a veiled conflict with a character named Chad Harrison. The opening sets the tone for a tale of adventure, self-discovery, and the shifting landscape of the American West.
