About this book

"List of Post Offices in Canada, with the Names of the Postmasters ... 1874" is a historical account written in the late 19th century. The work provides an extensive catalog of post offices across Canada during that period, including the names of the postmasters and relevant geographical details. This document serves as an important record for understanding the postal system's structure and administration in Canada during that time. The opening portion of the work establishes its purpose as a reference guide by presenting a detailed list of post offices as of July 1, 1874, organized by province, township, and electoral division. It includes a memorandum for postmasters, information on postal rates, and changes in postal office names. Furthermore, it lists other pertinent postal figures, such as the principal officers of the postal department, thereby giving insight into the administrative framework behind Canada’s postal services at the time.
