About this book

"Timon Ateenalainen" by William Shakespeare is a play written around 1606. A wealthy Athenian nobleman squanders his fortune on false friends and parasitic flatterers. When bankruptcy strikes, those he generously helped abandon him completely. Bitter and betrayed, Timon retreats to a wilderness cave, cursing all humanity. There he discovers gold, attracting the very people he now despises. The play follows his transformation from generous benefactor to misanthropic hermit, exploring themes of friendship, betrayal, and the corrupting nature of wealth.
