The Memoirs of Jacques Casanova de Seingalt, 1725-1798. Volume 03: Military Career

About this book

"The Memoirs of Jacques Casanova de Seingalt, 1725-1798. Volume 03: Military" is part of an autobiography written originally in French during the late 18th century. Giacomo Casanova, the legendary Venetian adventurer, chronicles his extraordinary life through 1774 in this sprawling, unfinished memoir. The work covers his adventures across Europe, though early English editions were heavily censored and mistranslated. The original manuscript, containing previously unpublished pages, was finally acquired by France's National Library in 2010, revealing Casanova's uncensored voice after centuries of bowdlerized versions distorted his story.
